News, Fairy Tales, and Legends

Staghorn sumac matching its colours to the barns.

Big news! We got an air fryer. (I’m always late to the party. I resisted getting one, but now I think it’s my favourite kitchen appliance.) So far I’ve used it to cook taquitos and hash brown patties. What’s your favourite thing to air fry? Do you have a favourite kitchen appliance?

Speaking of favourite things, over in my Facebook group, we’re on to Round 2 of Which Witch, in which I set two witches in a duel and you cast a vote for your favourite. Round 3 will be happening over the weekend, and the winner will be revealed on October 31. Join us! It’s a fun way to celebrate Hallowe’en! (Also, be sure to like/follow my Facebook page. I’ve been sharing free book and new release announcements from urban fantasy authors.)

And that’s not all! I’ve finished drafting Book 3! It’s now with the beta team (thank you, beta team! You are the best!) and getting cleaned up. Stay tuned for the release announcement. (Title and blurb are up on my website, if you want a sneak peek!)

And on that note, it’s time to sign up for Advanced Review Copies (ARCs). ARCs are given freely ahead of release day to readers with the hope of receiving honest reviews. I’ll be doing a limited number of ebook ARCs and a very limited number of PR boxes. Here’s the application form: https://forms.gle/zTJ2eeSjy4kxebkMA

In other book news, I’ve been told my non-fiction book about some historical people from my area is being nominated for a local book award. The book is in hardcover and will be for sale at local events, including the book launch next month. It’s also listed on my website for now.

And my edits came back from a publisher for a story that’s under consideration for inclusion in an anthology, so I have to get to work on those changes. As soon as I’m able to share more about this exciting opportunity, I will!
